Hitachi Zosen corrects welding qualification errors at Mukaishima plant

Hitachi Zosen (TSE:7004) today announced corrections to its previous disclosure on February 21, 2025, concerning inadequate welding operator qualifications in the production of bridges and other structures at its Mukaishima Works. The company discovered inaccuracies in the initial report following its release and is issuing this revision to address the issue. The updated figures reveal a slight decrease in the number of affected projects: the number of projects undertaken by welding operators without the required contractual or regulatory qualifications has been revised from 172 to 171. This includes a change in the number of affected bridges from 151 to 150. The number of affected marine structures (19) and other structures (2) remains unchanged.
