Olympus reduces capital in Global Treasury subsidiary, loses specified status

Olympus Corporation (TSE: 7733) announced today that it will reduce the capital of its subsidiary, Olympus Global Treasury Services Limited, effective March 5, 2025. This reduction will decrease the subsidiary's capital below 10% of Olympus's own capital, thus it will no longer be classified as a specified subsidiary. The capital reduction, which amounts to approximately ¥41.696 billion, will be executed to improve efficient use of funds within the Olympus group. Olympus maintains 100% ownership of the subsidiary, dispatching two directors and entrusting some administrative operations to Olympus Global Treasury Services Limited. Olympus does not expect this change to have a material impact on its consolidated financial results.
