WiseTech Global review clears executive chair of fund misuse allegations

WiseTech Global Limited announced the completion of its board review, initially revealed on 24 October 2024, addressing allegations concerning its co-founder and executive chair, Richard White. The review, supported by Herbert Smith Freehills, Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and forensic accounting services from McGrath Nicol, investigated three outstanding matters and two additional avenues of inquiry related to media reports.

The investigation specifically scrutinized allegations of inappropriate WiseTech expenditure concerning an "Individual 1" and "Individual 2," neither of whom were employees, contractors, or suppliers. Seyfarth Shaw LLP conducted detailed analyses of WiseTech's accounts and expense records for the period of 1 January 2024 to 18 August 2025. The firm found no evidence to support claims that company funds were inappropriately used by White for Individual 1's travel, accommodation, personal lifestyle, or business, nor any financial dealings between WiseTech and Individual 1 or associated entities.

Similarly, the review concluded that allegations of inappropriate WiseTech expenditure for Individual 2’s travel, attendance at company events, or benefits related to associated companies were not supported by evidence. The board stated it is satisfied that all relevant information has been brought to its attention and confirmed no further matters require inquiry as part of this review. The company also highlighted its robust governance arrangements, including "safe to speak up" and whistleblower platforms, and ongoing compliance training for employees.
