Soul Patts boosts stake in G8 Education with $8.1m share purchase

Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Company Limited (Soul Patts) and its subsidiaries have become a more significant holder in G8 Education Limited (ASX: GEM), increasing their voting power from 5.25% to 6.53%. This change reflects an acquisition of 9,851,209 additional ordinary shares, bringing their total holdings to 50,353,130 shares.

The increase in ownership occurred through a series of on-market purchases between October 24 and October 28, 2025. Key transactions included the purchase of 8,000,000 shares on October 28 at $0.8250, costing $6,600,000.00. Other significant acquisitions included 590,000 shares on October 24 at $0.8422 ($496,898.00) and 663,209 shares on October 27 at $0.8414 ($558,024.05).

The total cost of these recent acquisitions amounts to $8,147,793.65. The new voting power of 6.53% is based on 771,558,755 G8 Education ordinary shares currently on issue. The notice of change was filed on October 30, 2025, by Pamela Longstaff, company secretary for Soul Patts.
