Bougainville Copper details partnering efforts for Panguna project

Bougainville Copper Limited (BOC) reported on October 15, 2025, that it has not had any production since May 15, 1989. The company's Quarterly Production and Strategic Partnering Update for September 30, 2025, provided details on its strategic partnering process for the redevelopment of the Panguna Project.

Following an announcement on July 24, 2025, BOC is progressing confidential discussions with international mining parties regarding potential involvement in the Panguna Project. These discussions are conducted with the knowledge and endorsement of the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG), and leading advisory firm Grant Samuel has been engaged as financial advisers.

The strategic partnering process is in its early stages, with no certainty regarding the formation of a partnership arrangement or the timing, structure, or commercial terms. BOC’s role and level of participation remain undetermined and are subject to ABG approval, which holds governing authority over all mining activities in Bougainville.
