Star Entertainment appoints new director, veteran to retire

The Star Entertainment Group Limited has announced that Bruce Mathieson Jnr. has been appointed as a non-executive director, effective today, October 10, 2025. This appointment follows the initial announcement on August 29, 2025, and the subsequent receipt of all necessary regulatory and ministerial approvals.

Concurrently, Michael Issenberg, an independent non-executive director since July 11, 2022, will retire from the board. He will not seek re-election at the company’s 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) and will conclude his tenure at the close of the AGM.

Anne Ward, Star’s chairman, acknowledged Mr. Issenberg’s three years of service, highlighting his contributions as chair of the culture, people and remuneration committee, a member of the Star audit committee, and chair of The Star Brisbane. She also expressed anticipation for working with Mr. Mathieson Jnr. to shape the company’s future.
