Briscoe Group appoints Mark Cairns as independent director

Briscoe Group Limited (NZX/ASX code: BGP) announced the appointment of Mark Cairns as an independent non-executive director, effective from November 1, 2025. This appointment follows the previously announced retirement plans of Andy Coupe from the board at next year’s annual shareholders meeting.

Dame Rosanne Meo, chair of Briscoe Group, highlighted Cairns' extensive experience and skills in logistics, infrastructure, complex supply chains, and capital markets. His previous roles include chief executive for Port of Tauranga, Toll Owens, and Owens Cargo Company. The board anticipates that Cairns will bring an excellent balance of attributes to meet the company's future needs, reinforcing good governance.

Mark Cairns currently chairs Freightways Limited, having joined its board in 2021, and also serves as a director for Auckland International Airport Limited. He holds a first-class honours degree in Civil Engineering, a degree in Business Studies, and a Master of Management. Cairns will retire as a director at Briscoe Group’s 2026 annual meeting but intends to seek re-election.
