Coles reviews court decision on salaried team member underpayments

Coles Group Limited today acknowledged the Federal Court of Australia's decisions concerning salaried team members covered by the General Retail Industry Award. This announcement follows a review initiated in February 2020 into pay arrangements and a subsequent remediation program for affected employees.

A class action was filed in May 2020, and the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) began proceedings in December 2021. These proceedings related to alleged underpayments of salaried managers in Coles' supermarkets and sought interpretation of the award and the Fair Work Act.
