Tianqi Lithium's Talison completes lithium concentrate expansion project

Tianqi Lithium's subsidiary, Talison Lithium Pty Ltd, announced that its phase III chemical-grade lithium concentrate expansion project has been completed and formally commissioned as of December 18, 2025. This project, located in Greenbushes, Western Australia, aimed to increase the production capacity of chemical-grade lithium concentrate.

Following the successful commissioning, the project will now focus on debugging and optimization to produce standard chemical-grade lithium concentrate products and achieve full capacity ramp-up. Once fully operational, the project will contribute to a total constructed capacity of 2.14m tonnes per annum for Talison's lithium concentrate operations.

This expansion is expected to enhance Tianqi Lithium's raw material security for its domestic and international lithium chemical product manufacturing bases. The company anticipates that the increased supply will improve the matching of capacity with resources, strengthen upstream and downstream synergy, and potentially boost profitability. Market and implementation risks, including price volatility and ramp-up challenges, are noted.
