Maxscend Microelectronics sued by Murata for patent infringement in Germany

Jiangsu Maxscend Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (Maxscend Microelectronics) announced on November 21, 2025, that it has been served with a lawsuit in Germany by Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The case alleges patent infringement by Maxscend Microelectronics and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Maxscend Technologies (HK) Limited. The plaintiff is seeking injunctive relief, recall of infringing products, and damages, with the preliminary estimated claim amount being €1 million. Maxscend Microelectronics maintains its products are independently developed and intends to actively defend against the claims.

The lawsuit specifically targets a particular model of Maxscend’s filter products, which accounts for a small proportion of the company’s total revenue. Maxscend Microelectronics believes the impact on its current period’s profit will be minimal. The company has also initiated legal countermeasures, including invalidation proceedings against the patents in question, both in South Korea and China.

In addition to the German lawsuit, Maxscend Microelectronics is also involved in two other patent infringement lawsuits in South Korea, filed by Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., with claimed amounts totaling 1.008 million yuan. One of these Korean cases has commenced hearings, while the other has not yet been heard.
