BYD reports strong October 2025 production and sales growth

BYD Co., Ltd. announced a strong performance in its October 2025 production and sales flash report. The company's total new energy vehicle production reached 429,808 units. Cumulative year-to-date production hit 3,643,377 units, up 10.50% compared to 3,297,044 units in 2024. Total sales for October 2025 were 441,706 units, contributing to a year-to-date total of 3,701,852 units, marking a 13.88% increase from 3,250,532 units last year.

Passenger vehicles were a significant driver of this growth, with production at 424,174 units and sales at 436,856 units in October. Year-to-date passenger vehicle sales reached 3,655,718 units, an increase of 12.94%. Pure electric vehicles saw particularly strong growth, with year-to-date sales climbing 34.53% to 1,828,462 units. Plug-in hybrid vehicles, however, experienced a slight year-to-date sales decrease of 2.69%, totaling 1,827,256 units.

Commercial vehicles also showed substantial growth, with October production at 5,634 units and sales at 4,850 units. Year-to-date commercial vehicle sales increased by 239.10% to 46,134 units. BYD exported 83,904 new energy vehicles in October 2025. The company's new energy vehicle power battery and energy storage battery installations for October amounted to 27.362 GWh, bringing the year-to-date total to 230.613 GWh.
