Gepic Energy's ChangLe unit 6 begins commercial operation

Gepic Energy Development Co., Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, Gansu Gepic ChangLe Power Generation Co., Ltd. (ChangLe Company), has officially commenced commercial operation of Unit 6 of its 2×1,000 MW coal-fired power unit expansion project. The unit successfully completed 168 hours of full-load trial operation on October 16, 2025.

Located north of ChangLe Company's Liugou Logistics Park in Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, Unit 6 has a total installed capacity of 1,000MW. This addition increases the company's controlled installed power generation capacity by more than 10% compared to the end of 2024.

Unit 6 will serve as a peak-shaving power source within Gansu Province. Investors are advised to exercise caution as future operations may be affected by factors such as increased electricity supply, higher new energy penetration, priority dispatch of new energy, adjustments to on-grid tariffs, and fluctuations in coal supply and prices, which could impact profitability.
