Lomon Billions subsidiary sues over alleged trade secret infringement

Yunnan Xinli, a subsidiary of Lomon Billions Group, has filed a lawsuit with the Yunnan Provincial High People's Court concerning the alleged infringement of its chloride process titanium dioxide technical trade secrets. The case, accepted on October 13, 2025, involves a claim for economic losses totaling RMB 1.3 bn, with an additional RMB 10 m for reasonable legal expenses.

The defendants, including former senior employees Liu Jianliang, Jiang Shuan, and Zhao Zequan, along with Hebei Yanshan Steel Group Co., Ltd., are accused of disclosing and utilizing Yunnan Xinli's proprietary construction and production technologies for large-scale chloride process titanium dioxide production. The alleged infringement occurred from 2007 to 2019, with some defendants later joining an affiliated company of Hebei Yanshan Steel.

This civil action follows a criminal investigation initiated in 2022. A related criminal case against some defendants for infringing commercial trade secrets, with case number (2024) Yun 23 Xing Chu 20, was heard on May 15, 2025, but no verdict has been issued yet. The company cannot currently assess the impact on its current or future profits due to the ongoing nature of the lawsuit.
