Hubei energy sees varied september power generation, hydropower surges

Hubei Energy Group Co., Ltd. announced its power generation figures for September 2025, revealing a total generation of 3.138 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), marking a 21.18% decrease year-on-year. This monthly decline was primarily driven by a 52.88% reduction in thermal power generation and a 10.57% decrease in new energy power generation. In contrast, hydropower generation saw a significant increase of 233.43% compared to the previous year.

For the year-to-date, Hubei Energy's cumulative power generation reached 32.954 billion kWh, representing a 2.54% decrease. Hydropower generation for the period decreased by 20.63%, while thermal power generation was down 2.85%. New energy power generation, however, demonstrated robust growth, increasing by 35.45% year-to-date.

Within new energy, photovoltaic power generation surged by 58.11% year-to-date, contributing to the overall positive performance of this segment despite an 8.58% decrease in wind power. The company cautions that these figures are preliminary and subject to various influencing factors, advising investors against using them for simple performance projections.
