BYD reports strong September production and sales growth

BYD Company Limited released its September 2025 production and sales flash report, demonstrating strong performance across its new energy vehicle (NEV) segment. Total NEV production for September 2025 reached 405,554 units. Year-to-date, NEV production totaled 3,213,569 units, up 16.40% compared to the same period last year. Passenger vehicles constituted the vast majority of this output, with 402,008 units produced in September and 3,171,466 units year-to-date.

Sales figures mirrored the production strength, with 396,270 NEVs sold in September 2025. Year-to-date sales for NEVs reached 3,260,146 units, an 18.64% increase over September 2024. Pure electric passenger vehicles saw a notable 34.56% year-to-date sales growth, totaling 1,605,903 units. Plug-in hybrid passenger vehicle sales also increased to 1,612,959 units year-to-date.

The report also highlighted BYD's international presence, with new energy vehicle exports totaling 71,256 units in September 2025. Furthermore, the company's power battery and energy storage battery installations for September 2025 amounted to approximately 23.200 GWh, bringing the year-to-date total to around 203.251 GWh.
