Shengda Metal subsidiary mine halts operations after fatal accident

On September 11, 2025, a fatal accident occurred at the mine construction site of Kerqinqizhi Dongcheng Mining Co., Ltd., a second-tier subsidiary of Shengda Metal Resources Co., Ltd. A rockfall in a previously supported tunnel resulted in the death of a driller from Zhejiang Zhongye Construction Group Co., Ltd., the project's contractor. The incident took place approximately 7 meters from the working face in the main haulage tunnel of the North Wind Shaft 1150 middle section.

Dongcheng Mining initiated an emergency response, including rescue, clean-up, and aftermath work, and reported the incident to local authorities. The mine has temporarily suspended operations for investigation. According to the contract between Dongcheng Mining and its contractor, all liabilities and losses incurred during construction-related safety accidents are the responsibility of the contractor.

Dongcheng Mining's mine is under construction and has not yet commenced production. The incident is not expected to significantly impact the mine's completion and production schedule or the company's current operating performance.
