Shenzhen Airport traffic up in August, international passengers surge

Shenzhen Airport reported an increase in passenger and cargo throughput, as well as flight movements for August 2025. Passenger throughput for the month reached 5.807 million person-times, up 4.07% year-on-year, contributing to a year-to-date total of 43.8119 million person-times, an 8.76% increase. International passenger traffic saw significant growth, rising 12.05% in August to 526,300 person-times, and a substantial 27.26% year-to-date to 3.8321 million person-times.

Cargo and mail throughput for August stood at 171,800 tons, an 8.26% increase, bringing the year-to-date total to 1.328 million tons, up 12.67%. International cargo also performed strongly, with an 8.51% increase in August to 85,100 tons and a 14.32% rise year-to-date to 638,500 tons.

Flight movements for the month totaled 38,339 takeoffs and landings, a 1.41% increase. Year-to-date flight movements reached 297,213, up 5.58%. International flight movements saw a 10.43% rise in August to 5,273, and a 21.20% increase year-to-date to 39,276. The company noted that these figures are preliminary and may differ from actual data.
