Gepic Energy to invest in 1 GW wind and solar project

Gepic Energy Development announced plans to invest in the Minqin 1 GW wind and solar power integrated project through its controlled subsidiary, Minqin New Energy Co., Ltd. The project has a dynamic total investment of 408,868.91 million yuan, with 20% funded by capital contributions from shareholders and the remainder through bank loans.

The project encompasses a 500 MW wind farm and a 500 MW photovoltaic power plant, with an estimated construction period of 24 months. Expected annual power generation is 1,099.21 million kWh for wind and 1,014.50 million kWh for solar. Based on feed-in tariffs of 0.28 yuan/kWh for wind and 0.20 yuan/kWh for solar, the project's post-tax investment recovery period is estimated at 14.91 years, with an internal rate of return on capital of 6.76%. The company's board approved the investment on September 3, 2025, pending shareholder approval.
