BYD sees surge in August new energy vehicle sales, shares flat

BYD Co. Ltd. reported its August 2025 production and sales update, revealing strong performance in new energy vehicles. Total new energy vehicle production for August reached 353,090 units. Year-to-date production through August 2025 totaled 2,808,015 units, a 21.04% increase from 2,319,858 units in the same period last year. Sales also surged, with 373,626 new energy vehicles sold in August 2025 and 2,863,876 units year-to-date, marking a 23.00% increase compared to the previous year.

The company's passenger vehicles led the growth, with year-to-date production reaching 2,769,458 units and sales totaling 2,825,802 units. Commercial vehicle sales also saw substantial growth, particularly in buses and other vehicle categories. Exports of new energy vehicles in August 2025 amounted to 80,813 units.

Concurrently, BYD confirmed no changes to its statutory or issued share capital for the month ending August 31, 2025. The company's total statutory/registered share capital remains RMB 9,117,197,565.
