CATL shareholder completes donation of shares to education fund

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) announced that a shareholder, along with the company's vice chairman Li Ping and his spouse, have completed the donation of 4.05 million shares to the Shanghai Fudan University Education Development Foundation. These shares, unrestricted and freely tradable, aim to bolster educational initiatives.

The transfer of shares was officially registered on July 10, 2025, as confirmed by the China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation Limited. Following the completion of the share transfer, Li Ping's holdings decreased from 201,510,277 shares (4.42%) to 197,460,277 shares (4.33%), while the Shanghai Fudan University Education Development Foundation now holds 4,050,000 shares, representing 0.09% of CATL's total share capital.

The company clarified that the calculations exclude the shares held in CATL's repurchase account. Adjusted to exclude the 22,632,510 repurchased shares, Li Ping's shareholding change would reflect a decrease from 4.44% to 4.35%, and the foundation's stake would represent an increase to 0.09%. CATL stated that this donation will not impact the company's corporate governance structure or ongoing operations.
