Sunward Intelligent's subsidiary to acquire Qantas aircraft

Sunward Intelligent Equipment announced its wholly-owned subsidiary, Avmax Group Inc., plans to acquire 16 DHC-8 300 aircraft from Qantas Airways Limited. The transaction, valued at USD 5,114.21 million (excluding taxes) or USD 5,625.63 million (including taxes), was approved at the company's board meeting on July 5, 2025. The move aims to capitalize on the recovering global aviation market and growing demand for regional air travel. Avmax will finance the acquisition through a combination of its own funds and bank loans. The company has already appointed a third party to conduct legal due diligence. Delivery of all 16 aircraft is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025.
