Shenzhen Airport's May traffic soars, outpaces 2024 figures

Shenzhen Airport announced its production and operation express report for May 2025, showcasing substantial year-over-year growth. Passenger throughput reached 553,870,000, marking a 15.67% increase compared to May 2024, contributing to a year-to-date total of 2,741,110,000, up 11.12%. Domestic routes saw a 14.42% rise, while international routes surged by 30.99%. Cargo throughput also experienced positive momentum, with 16,870 tonnes handled in May, a 9.47% increase, bringing the year-to-date figure to 79,540 tonnes, up 13.26%. Flight movements totaled 37,274 in May, a 11.17% rise, accumulating to 184,943 for the year, representing a 6.85% increase. The company cautions that these figures are preliminary and subject to change.
