Gansu Jingyuan coal mine accident claims three lives

Gansu Jingyuan Coal Industry And Electricity Power (SZSE:000552) reported a water seepage incident at its Wangjiashan Coal Mine No. 1 well on May 19, 2025. The accident, which occurred at the No. 2204 working face, led to the deaths of three workers. Following the incident, Gansu Jingyuan Coal promptly initiated emergency response protocols, suspended operations at the affected mine, and reported the incident to relevant authorities. The company expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased. In 2024, the No. 1 well produced 73,380 tons of coal, accounting for 3.85% of the company's total coal production. The mine's estimated revenue for 2024 is CNY246 million, representing 2.56% of the company's total revenue. Gansu Jingyuan Coal stated that other business operations remain normal, and investigations into the accident's cause are ongoing. The company vowed to enhance safety protocols and risk management.
