Dabeinong secures soybean planting approval in Uruguay

Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group (SZSE:002385) announced that its holding subsidiary, Beijing Dabeinong Biotechnology Co., Ltd., has received approval for the cultivation of its genetically modified soybean products in Uruguay. Uruguay's National Biosafety Commission (GNBio) approved the DBN9004 (DBN-09004-6), DBN8002 (DBN-08002-3), and DBN9004 × DBN8002 (DBN-09004-6 × DBN-08002-3) soybean events, all of which exhibit herbicide tolerance or insect resistance traits. This follows previous approvals in Argentina and Brazil. DBN9004 offers tolerance to both glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides, addressing weed control challenges. DBN8002 provides insect resistance against major pests. The company cautioned that further import permits from other major soybean-consuming countries are still needed before realizing full commercial potential. The announcement was made on April 3, 2025.
