Guangxi Guiguan to upgrade Longtan hydropower navigation facilities to 1,000-ton class

Guangxi Guiguan Electric Power's wholly-owned subsidiary, Longtan Hydropower Development Co., will begin construction on 1,000-ton class navigation facilities at the Longtan Hydropower Station. This upgrade from the previously planned 500-ton class facilities, originally approved in 2014, aligns with national strategies to enhance navigation on the Hongshui River, a key waterway in the Pearl River system. The project's construction period is estimated at 69 months, with trial navigation expected by September 20, 2031.

The estimated total investment for the 1,000-ton class project is 5.35 bn yuan, an increase of 2.35 bn yuan from the 500-ton class plan. The additional investment will be sourced from Guizhou Provincial Department of Transportation and other funding will be raised by Longtan Company through bank loans. This project is not expected to materially impact the company's normal operations, financial position, or cash flow.

The upgrade is deemed crucial for improving the Hongshui River basin's navigation conditions, connecting major river systems, and supporting regional economic development, aligning with national strategies for the Western Land-Sea New Corridor.
