Dongfeng Automobile’s November vehicle sales fall, engine production surges

Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. released its production and sales data bulletin for November 2025, indicating a challenging period for its commercial vehicle segment. Overall vehicle production for November decreased by 55.48% to 6,570 units compared to 14,728 units in the same period last year. Year-to-date vehicle production also saw a 26.95% decline, totaling 96,858 units. Similarly, vehicle sales for November fell by 37.89% to 8,159 units, with year-to-date sales down 22.96% to 107,641 units. Light trucks experienced the sharpest declines.

Despite the overall downturn in vehicle numbers, the company's new energy vehicle segment showed mixed performance. New energy vehicle production for November dropped by 9.25% to 1,138 units, while sales increased by 0.42% to 1,903 units compared to last year. However, year-to-date figures for new energy vehicles still reflect declines, with production down 23.74% and sales down 15.95%.

In contrast to its vehicle segments, Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., a 50/50 joint venture with Cummins (China) Investment Co., Ltd., reported robust growth. Dongfeng Cummins engine production increased by 23.35% in November to 22,519 units and sales rose by 19.79% to 21,204 units. Year-to-date engine production climbed 9.74% to 201,656 units, with sales up 12.52% to 201,379 units.
