New China Life Insurance board nominates ninth board of directors, re-elects most members

New China Life Insurance Company (NCI) held the 39th meeting of its eighth board of directors on November 28, 2025, in Beijing. All 11 directors attended the meeting, which was presided over by chairman Yang Yucheng. The board unanimously passed a resolution to nominate candidates for the company's ninth board of directors, which will be presented for approval at a general shareholders' meeting.

The nominations include Yang Yucheng and Gong Xingfeng as executive director candidates. Yang Xue, Mao Sixue, Hu Aiming, and Zhang Xiaodong were nominated as non-executive director candidates. Additionally, Xu Xu, Guo Yongqing, Zhuo Zhi, and Zhang Xiufen were nominated as independent director candidates. All nominations, except for Zhang Xiufen, are for re-election. Zhang Xiufen is a new independent director candidate, whose qualification is subject to regulatory approval after the shareholders' meeting.

The board also approved a resolution concerning the candidates for subsidiary chairmen. Both proposals were previously reviewed and approved by the company's nominating and remuneration committee.
