Tsingtao Brewery to invest up to RMB 10 bn in low-risk wealth management

Tsingtao Brewery Company Limited announced its strategy to engage in wealth management investments with its own funds over the next 12 months, from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2026. The company intends to maintain a single-day maximum investment balance of RMB 10 billion, with flexibility for funds to be used on a revolving basis. This initiative aims to improve the utilization of the company's idle capital and preserve its value while ensuring adequate operating funds and capital security. The Eleventh Board of Directors approved this plan at its second extraordinary meeting in 2025, eliminating the need for shareholder approval.

The company will select reputable financial institutions as trustees, including commercial banks, securities companies, fund management companies, and asset management companies. The investment will focus on high-safety, high-liquidity, and controllable-risk products, including structured deposits. While these products are generally low-risk with floating returns, the company acknowledges the potential for uncertainty in principal and returns due to market fluctuations.

As of the announcement date, the company has invested a total of RMB 650,000 in structured deposits and wealth management products over the past 12 months. Of this, RMB 55,000 in principal has been recovered, along with RMB 389 in investment income, leaving RMB 595,000 in unrecovered principal. The highest single-day investment over the last 12 months was RMB 610,000, representing 20.43% of the previous year's net assets. The cumulative income from these investments accounted for 0.09% of the net profit attributable to parent company shareholders in the last year.
