Shanghai International Airport Co. reports strong October traffic growth

Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd. announced its October 2025 transport production figures, showing robust growth across both Pudong and Hongqiao international airports. Pudong International Airport reported 48,633 aircraft movements, a 6.04% year-on-year increase. Passenger throughput at Pudong reached 7.5204 million person-times, up 12.46% year-on-year, driven largely by a 22.00% rise in international passenger traffic. Cargo and mail throughput for Pudong increased by 11.74% to 3.691 million tonnes.

Hongqiao International Airport also experienced growth, with 24,678 aircraft movements in October, a 3.76% year-on-year increase. Passenger throughput for Hongqiao reached 4.4738 million person-times, up 5.69% year-on-year. Cargo and mail throughput at Hongqiao saw a 5.99% increase, reaching 0.443 million tonnes. Notably, international routes at Hongqiao recorded an 8.29% increase in passenger throughput, while cargo and mail throughput on these routes saw a slight decline of 6.20%.
