Xiamen Airport sees mixed traffic trends in October, international routes surge

Xiamen International Airport released its October 2025 transportation production brief, showing slight declines in overall aircraft movements and cargo throughput, alongside a modest increase in passenger traffic. Total aircraft movements for the month reached 16,727, a 0.78% year-over-year decrease. This was primarily driven by a 1.90% drop in domestic flight movements to 13,956, while international and regional routes experienced growth. International flights saw a 9.78% increase in movements to 2,122.

Passenger throughput at Xiamen Airport reached 2.5548 million people in October 2025, marking a 1.56% year-over-year increase. International routes were a significant contributor to this growth, with a 15.13% surge in passengers to 294,900. Domestic routes, however, saw a slight dip of 0.33% in passenger volume, totaling 2.1879 million. Cargo and mail throughput for the month was 33,300 tonnes, representing a marginal 0.14% year-over-year decrease. Domestic cargo saw a notable 9.10% increase to 13,900 tonnes, but this was offset by a decline in international cargo, which fell by 8.07% to 15,300 tonnes.
