GAC group sees october sales decline amidst broader market headwinds

Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group) reported a notable decline in its October 2025 production and sales figures. The company's total automobile production reached 154,095 units, marking an 8.30% decrease compared to the previous year. Year-to-date cumulative production also saw a 7.33% drop, totaling 1,391,666 units. Sales performance mirrored this trend, with 170,731 automobiles sold in October, an 8.10% year-on-year decrease. Cumulative sales for the year reached 1,354,384 units, down 10.94% from the prior year.

Several key subsidiaries contributed to these overall declines. GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. experienced significant drops in both October production (-13.64%) and sales (-15.81%), with year-to-date sales down a substantial 26.16%. GAC Aion New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. also saw its October production fall by 18.78% and sales by 26.09% year-on-year. Conversely, GAC Trumpchi Automobile Co., Ltd. bucked the trend with a strong 34.07% increase in October production and a 2.57% rise in sales.

While new energy vehicle sales increased 4.95% in October to 46,964 units, total new energy vehicle production was down 13.31% year-to-date. In a brighter spot, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. reported a modest 0.71% increase in October sales and a 4.39% rise in year-to-date sales. Motorcycle sales, represented by Wuyang-Honda Motors (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., experienced a 7.00% decrease in October sales.
