Qingshan Paper loses patent in administrative judgment

Fujian Qingshan Paper Industry Co. announced today that it received an administrative judgment from the Beijing Intellectual Property Court, upholding the invalidation of its invention patent, "a method for integrated ultrasonic pulping and bleaching." The court dismissed the company's lawsuit against the National Intellectual Property Administration's decision to invalidate the patent.

The company stated that the patent's invalidation would not impact its continued use of the technology, as the patent's rights have either expired or been deemed invalid, allowing competitors to use it freely. Furthermore, the technology has not yet fully realized its potential in deep research and pilot tests, and has not been used for large-scale production or commercial operation. Therefore, the ruling will not affect the company's current normal production and operation.

Fujian Qingshan Paper Industry clarified that based on the principle of prudence, it had already fully provided for impairment losses for this series of patents in previous fiscal years. Consequently, the patent's invalidation will not negatively impact the company's current or future profits and losses. The company intends to appeal the decision within the statutory period and will disclose any further developments.
