Southern Publishing and Media sees mixed Q3 2025 performance

Southern Publishing and Media Company (SSE:601900) has released its unaudited key operating data for the first three quarters of 2025. The company's general book publishing business saw sales increase by 14.24% to CNY 204,948.40 from CNY 179,404.47 in the same period last year. However, revenue for this segment decreased by 5.22% to CNY 26,407.70 from CNY 27,860.94 year-over-year.

Despite the revenue decline, the cost of sales for general book publishing also saw a slight decrease of 0.68%, totaling CNY 26,889.11. The gross profit margin for general book publishing declined by 4.65 percentage points, from 2.83% to -1.82%.

In its newspaper and periodical business, the company reported a circulation of 53.37 million copies. Signed advertising orders amounted to CNY 7,411.01, with confirmed advertising and service revenue reaching CNY 7,198.59. No advertising violations or penalties were reported for this segment.
