Huadian Power International Q3 2025 generation declines amid new energy growth

Huadian Power International and its subsidiaries reported cumulative power generation of 201.329 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) for the first three quarters of 2025, a 5.87% decrease compared to the same period last year. On-grid electricity volume also fell by 5.94% to 189.243 billion kWh.

The company attributed these declines to the continuous increase in new energy installed capacity, which led to reduced utilization hours for coal-fired power units. The average on-grid electricity price for the first three quarters of 2025 was approximately RMB 509.55 per megawatt-hour (MWh), a 2.76% decrease from the prior year period.
