Zheneng Electric Power reports strong generation growth in Q3 2025

Zhejiang Zheneng Electric Power Company Limited reported a 4.68% year-on-year increase in gross electricity generation, reaching 13,523,434.29 million kWh for the first three quarters of 2025. Net electricity sent to the grid also saw a 4.80% rise, totaling 12,815,257.04 million kWh.

This growth is primarily attributed to several factors: an overall increase in electricity consumption across Zhejiang Province, the full operation of new units at Zhejiang Zheneng Zhongmei Zhoushan Coal Power Co., Ltd. (sixth unit Phase II units 3 and 4 commissioned in July and November 2024), and increased output from Zhejiang Zheneng Jiahua Power Generation Co., Ltd. (Jiahua Power Phase IV Unit 9 commissioned in June 2025).

Thermal power continued to be the dominant source, accounting for 13,409,490.44 million kWh of gross generation. The company’s wholly-owned and controlled power generation enterprises, including major contributors like Zhejiang Zheneng Jiahua Power Generation Co., Ltd. (2,215,115.70 million kWh) and Zhejiang Zheneng Leqing Power Generation Co., Ltd. (1,982,786.08 million kWh), drove the strong performance.
