Juneyao Airlines reports strong September traffic growth driven by international recovery

Shanghai Juneyao Airlines announced its September 2025 operating data, showing a 1.91% year-on-year increase in passenger capacity and a 4.85% rise in passenger turnover. This growth was largely driven by a substantial 25.43% year-on-year increase in international passenger capacity and a 37.10% increase in international passenger turnover. Overall passenger load factor improved by 2.42 percentage points to 86.07%, with international routes seeing a 6.77 percentage point increase.

Domestic operations saw a year-on-year decrease, with capacity down 5.57% and passenger turnover down 3.84%. However, the domestic passenger load factor still rose by 1.61 percentage points to 89.02%. Cargo and mail traffic also performed strongly, with revenue freight tonne kilometers increasing by 35.71% year-on-year, and cargo and mail load factor improving by 4.21 percentage points to 29.13%.

As of September 30, 2025, Juneyao Airlines operated a total of 130 aircraft. This included 93 A320 series aircraft and 10 Boeing 787 series aircraft. Its subsidiary, Nine Air, operated 27 Boeing 737 series aircraft. The company did not introduce or retire any aircraft during September.
