Xiamen Airport reports modest september 2025 passenger growth amid mixed results

Xiamen International Airport (SSE:600897) released its September 2025 transportation production report, indicating varied performance across key metrics. The airport recorded 15,929 aircraft movements, a slight increase of 0.66% year-on-year. Passenger throughput reached 2.3113 million person-times, growing by 3.05% compared to the previous year. However, cargo and mail throughput experienced a decrease of 2.04%, totaling 32,700 tons.

Domestic routes saw 13,247 aircraft movements, a marginal decrease of 0.28%, while passenger volume on these routes grew by 2.43% to 1.9864 million person-times. Cargo volume for domestic routes increased by 3.92% to 1.38 million tons.

International and regional routes exhibited stronger growth in aircraft movements and passenger numbers. International routes recorded 2,024 aircraft movements, a 10.06% increase, and passenger traffic rose by 8.77% to 266,400 person-times. Regional routes, with 480 aircraft movements, saw a decrease of 8.40%, yet passenger traffic declined only slightly by 0.41% to 58,600 person-times. Cargo and mail throughput for international routes decreased by 7.98% to 1.50 million tons, while regional routes saw a 2.55% increase to 0.39 million tons.
