GAC Group sees mixed September as production rises, sales fall

Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. reported an 11.17% year-on-year increase in September 2025 automotive production, reaching 179,178 units. However, cumulative year-to-date production through September experienced a 7.21% decline, totaling 1,237,571 units. Sales for September 2025 saw a 5.17% decrease from the previous year, with 173,176 units sold. Year-to-date sales also fell by 11.34% to 1,183,653 units.

Among its key subsidiaries, GAC Toyota showed strong performance with a 24.86% increase in September production and a 5.84% rise in sales. In contrast, GAC Honda faced challenges, with September production down by 2.52% and sales declining by 6.61%. GAC Aion New Energy saw a 3.31% increase in September production, but a significant 32.37% drop in sales for the month.

New energy vehicle production across the group surged by 28.33% in September, with year-to-date production up 1.97%. However, new energy vehicle sales declined by 9.24% in September, though year-to-date sales showed a modest 6.70% increase. The overall passenger vehicle segment recorded a 10.92% production increase but a 5.40% sales decrease in September.
