Dongfeng Automobile's September sales decline, engine JV sees growth

Dongfeng Automobile Company Limited's September 2025 preliminary production and sales data reveals a notable decline in overall vehicle output and deliveries. Total automobile production decreased by 23.01% year-to-date to 83,752 units, and sales dropped by 20.28% to 92,146 units compared to the same period last year. Light trucks saw a production decrease of 20.25% and sales decrease of 17.19% year-to-date. Passenger vehicle production plummeted by 62.18%, with sales down by 59.90% for the year. New energy vehicle production also experienced a downturn, falling by 25.44% year-to-date, though sales declined by a lesser 16.20%.

In contrast, Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., a 50/50 joint venture, reported positive growth. Its engine production increased by 8.07% year-to-date, reaching 163,847 units, and sales surged by 10.80% to 163,753 units compared to the previous year.

The company emphasizes that these figures are preliminary and subject to change upon release of its official periodic reports.
