Guangzhou Port sees strong year-to-date growth despite September dip

Guangzhou Port Company Limited announced its preliminary production data for September and the first nine months of 2025. In September 2025, the company expects to handle 2.051m TEUs in container throughput, a 0.8% year-on-year decrease. Cargo throughput for the same month is projected at 47.845m tons, a 4.1% increase compared to the previous year.

Looking at the cumulative period from January to September 2025, Guangzhou Port anticipates a total container throughput of 20.165m TEUs, representing a healthy 7.0% year-on-year growth. Cargo throughput for the first nine months is estimated at 433.678m tons, showing a 2.7% increase from the prior year.
