Foton's september sales jump, driven by surging EV demand

Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. reported total sales of 55,253 units in September, up 10.94% year-on-year, bringing year-to-date sales to 480,061 units. Production for the month also rose 10.55% to 56,279 units, with year-to-date production reaching 483,318 units.

New energy vehicles were a standout, with sales surging 113.36% year-on-year to 8,624 units in September. Year-to-date sales for new energy vehicles hit 74,333 units, while production climbed 110.97% to 9,207 units for the month. Medium and heavy-duty trucks, including Foton Daimler, also performed strongly, recording a 49.52% increase in September sales to 14,187 units.

In engine products, including Foton Cummins, sales for September saw a slight decrease of 0.87% year-on-year to 23,190 units, with year-to-date sales at 195,583 units. Production for engine products, however, increased by 3.99% to 28,210 units in September.
