PetroChina appoints Ren Lixin as new company president

PetroChina Company Limited held its first interim meeting of the ninth board of directors for 2025 via written resolution on September 30, 2025, where the board approved the proposal to appoint a new president. The board resolved to appoint Ren Lixin as the company’s president, with his term coinciding with that of the ninth board of directors.

Mr. Ren Lixin, 58, currently serves as a director and senior vice president of PetroChina. He is also a member of the Party Leadership Group, deputy general manager, and chief safety officer of China National Petroleum Corporation. His career at PetroChina includes leadership roles such as general manager of the Refining & Chemical Branch and senior vice president of the company since August 2021.

As of the announcement date, Mr. Ren Lixin does not hold any shares in the company and has no related party relationships with other directors, supervisors, senior management, actual controllers, or shareholders holding 5% or more of the company's shares. He also meets the eligibility requirements for senior management appointments as stipulated by the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
