Air China schedules EGM to elect new executive director

Air China Limited has scheduled its second extraordinary general meeting of shareholders for October 10, 2025, in Beijing. The primary agenda item for this meeting is the election of a new executive director, following a proposal from the company's seventh board of directors.

The key resolution concerns the election of Liu Tiexiang as an executive director. Liu, 59, has a distinguished career including roles as vice president, party standing committee member, and chief operating officer at Air China. He also served as vice general manager, party group member, general manager, party group deputy secretary, and director at China Eastern Air Group. His recent appointments in 2025 include chairman and party group secretary of China National Aviation Corporation in August, and concurrently, party committee member, standing committee member, and secretary of Air China Limited in September.

The meeting will involve both on-site registered voting and online voting for shareholders, with the final results to be announced after combining both sets of votes. The term of office for the newly elected director will commence upon shareholder approval and last until the expiration of the current board's term, with eligibility for re-election.
