Haohua Chemical details growth in electronic gases, refrigerants

Haohua Chemical Science & Technology Group Co., Ltd. held its 2025 half-year earnings presentation on September 19, 2025, detailing its focus on electronic special gases. The company's Haohua Gas subsidiary, a leader in the domestic specialty gas industry, maintains over 60% market share for some products. Current capacities include 1,200 tons/year for hexafluorobutadiene (global first), 5,000 tons/year for nitrogen trifluoride (top three nationwide), 1,000 tons/year for tetrafluoromethane (top three nationwide), and 1,500 tons/year for sulfur hexafluoride. New sulfur hexafluoride facilities will boost capacity to 6,000 tons/year, with a new 6,000 tons/year nitrogen trifluoride plant (3,000 tons in phase one) expected to commence operations this year.

In fluorocarbon chemicals, Haohua noted that HFCs production quotas, effective January 1, 2024, at 791,900 tons for China in 2025, along with strong downstream demand from automotive and air conditioning sectors, are keeping the refrigerant market robust. The company is developing alternatives to ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and holds leading global market shares for several products, including R123 (globally exclusive production), R134a, and R125 (top three globally).

Regarding insulation gases, Haohua is progressing on perfluoroisobutyronitrile as a promising sulfur hexafluoride alternative, with related environmental insulation gas projects under construction. The company also addressed losses in its aerospace tire subsidiary, Shuguang Research Institute. These losses are attributed to increased depreciation from newly commissioned digital civil aviation tire production lines and lower gross margins from other business policy impacts, as full-scale commercial supply is not yet achieved during active flight testing and data accumulation.
