Air China narrows H1 2025 loss, revenue up, new executive appointed

Air China Limited announced a net loss attributable to company shareholders of RMB 1,804,820 thousand for the first six months of 2025, a significant improvement from RMB 2,778,953 thousand in the same period last year. Total revenue increased by 1.56% year-on-year to RMB 80,757,434 thousand.

The airline’s operational data showed a 3.37% increase in available seat kilometers, with passenger load factor improving by 1.43 percentage points to 80.72%. International routes saw a notable 16.70% rise in capacity. The fleet size reached 934 aircraft, with an average age of 10.28 years.

In a key governance update, Liu Tiexiang was elected as an executive director at the Second Extraordinary General Meeting on October 10, 2025, following board approval on September 19, 2025. This appointment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the company’s leadership and strategic direction.
