COSCO SHIPPING Development appoints new general manager, executive director candidate

COSCO SHIPPING Development announced key leadership changes following its Seventh Board of Directors' 31st Meeting on September 16, 2025. The board approved the nomination of Mr. Wang Kunhui as a candidate for executive director, which will be submitted for approval at the upcoming shareholders’ meeting. His term, if approved, will align with the current seventh board of directors.

Concurrently, the board appointed Mr. Wang Kunhui as the company’s new general manager, effective September 16, 2025. This appointment follows the resignation of Mr. Zhang Mingwen from his role as general manager, also effective the same day. Mr. Zhang Mingwen confirmed no disagreements with the company regarding his departure.

To facilitate these changes, the board has proposed convening the second extraordinary general meeting of shareholders for 2025. Mr. Wang Kunhui, 50, has an extensive background in shipping, having joined the industry in July 1998, with prior roles including various management positions at COSCO Shipping Container Lines and COSCO Shipping (South America). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Transportation Management Engineering from Shanghai Maritime University.
