Juneyao Airlines reports mixed August 2025 operating data

Shanghai Juneyao Airlines Company Limited and its subsidiary, Jiuyuan Airlines, experienced a slight decrease in overall passenger capacity in August 2025, with available seat kilometers (ASK) falling by 2.66% year-on-year. This was driven by a 6.77% decline in domestic ASK, despite international ASK rising by 13.68%. Passenger turnover (RPK) also saw a 1.91% year-on-year dip, with domestic RPK down 7.06%, while international RPK increased by 20.44%. The overall passenger load factor improved by 0.69 percentage points to 88.96%.

In contrast, cargo operations showed growth. Available freight tonne kilometers (AFTK) increased by 10.31% year-on-year, primarily due to a substantial 39.92% rise in international AFTK, despite domestic AFTK declining by 6.32%. Revenue freight tonne kilometers (RFTK) also grew by 32.06% in August 2025. The cargo and mail load factor rose by 4.21 percentage points to 25.56%, contributing to an overall composite load factor increase of 0.34 percentage points to 68.18%.

As of August 31, 2025, Juneyao Airlines operates a fleet of 130 aircraft, including 93 A320 series aircraft and 10 Boeing 787 series aircraft. Jiuyuan Airlines operates 27 Boeing 737 series aircraft.
