Hainan Airlines sees strong cargo growth in August 2025

Hainan Airlines Holding and its subsidiaries reported a 26.28% year-on-year increase in cargo and mail revenue tonne-kilometers for August 2025. Total cargo and mail volume also grew by 21.56% year-on-year, with the cargo and mail load factor rising by 12.65 percentage points. This strong performance was driven by a 37.63% increase in international cargo and mail volume and a 12.52% rise in domestic cargo and mail volume.

In terms of passenger operations, total revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) increased by 3.05% year-on-year, while available seat kilometers (ASK) grew by 3.38%. Passenger traffic, measured by the number of passengers carried, saw a modest 0.69% increase. The overall passenger load factor for August 2025 was 87.65%, a slight decrease of 0.29 percentage points from the previous year.

The company added one B737-8MAX aircraft and one A321NEO aircraft in August 2025, bringing its total operating fleet to 354 aircraft by the end of August 2025. These operating figures are based on internal compilations and are unaudited, with potential for adjustment in future reports.
