Air China reports strong August traffic with international and cargo growth

In August 2025, Air China Limited and its subsidiaries experienced a 3.2% year-on-year rise in consolidated passenger turnover, measured by revenue passenger kilometers. Passenger capacity, as measured by available seat kilometers, increased by 2.3%, with the average passenger load factor improving by 0.8 percentage points to 83.7%. Domestically, passenger capacity saw a slight decrease of 1.2%, while international capacity surged by 12.6%, leading to a 12.9% increase in international passenger turnover. Regional passenger capacity, however, declined by 5.7%.

Cargo operations also showed positive momentum, with cargo turnover increasing by 10.2% year-on-year. Cargo capacity rose by 1.5%, and the cargo load factor reached 42.1%, up 3.3 percentage points.

As of the end of August 2025, Air China's fleet comprised 941 aircraft. The company added six new aircraft during the month: three A320 series and three B737 series.
