Sanfeng Environment wins 10-year Macau waste management contract worth MOP2.6bn

Chongqing Sanfeng Environment Group Co., Ltd. (Sanfeng Environment) has announced the signing of a 10-year service contract with the Macau Special Administrative Region. The agreement covers the operation and maintenance of the Macau Waste Incineration Center and the Macau Special and Hazardous Waste Treatment Station.

This contract, effective immediately, is projected to generate approximately MOP2.6bn in total revenue for Sanfeng Environment. The revenue includes MOP820m in service fees paid in installments by the Macau SAR over the contract period, plus additional income from the sale of electricity generated by the Macau Waste Incineration Center.

This facility, built with Sanfeng Environment's subsidiary Chongqing Sanfeng Covanta Environmental Industry Co., Ltd. as part of a consortium, has an advanced processing capacity of 1,300 tons per day and was completed in September 2024. Sanfeng Environment’s consortium will provide high-efficiency, low-carbon, and professional integrated waste treatment services to the local community. The company anticipates generating service fee income in the current year, though due to the short service period for the remainder of 2025, the impact on its financial performance for this year is not expected to be substantial.
